This cable can only be used in situations where the VGA output is capable of outputting a component video signal over the VGA port. The connectors are color-coded and gold plated for simple, trouble-free installation.

Hooking a computer with a VGA output up to your LCD, Plasma TV, or Projector? Read the following before your purchase. This cable will NOT convert VGA to Component Video. Your video source must be capable of outputting component video over the VGA connector. Alternatively, you can also use this cable to connect a VGA source to a Component Video if your video display (Plasma, LCD TV, etc.) supports "Sync on Green". "Component Over VGA" or "Sync On Green" should be listed in the manual of your device if these technologies are supported. If it's not listed - assume this cable will not work.
